Description
Spirituality is an important construct for Native Hawaiian health however, knowledge on measurement of this construct is lacking for current health interventions and practice. A literature review was conducted to review how spirituality was included in culturally adapted interventions for Native Hawaiian population. Through this review a categorization of Native Hawaiian spirituality was created and recommendations on spiritual inclusion into current health interventions and practices for Native Hawaiian population. Once we better understand Native Hawaiian spirituality, we can develop interventions to improve or strengthen it, which should improve Hawaiian health.
