This paper looks at how we can create more meaningful and affirming spaces for being and belonging by keeping understandings about culture and relational connection at the centre of our thinking. We can ground the important work of improving human rights protections for persons with disabilities in the disability knowledges that are produced in these deeply relational and culturally rooted spaces of being.
