Preferred Education: Master’s degree in social work or counseling Minimum Work Experience: Event planning and coordination, training, database management. Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid Alabama driver’s license and auto insurance minimum liability 100/300. LBSW, or LMSW, LICSW, LPC for master’s level social worker or counselor; Must obtain highest level licensure. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Excellent communication and organizational skills; technology, negotiation and budgeting experience, event planning and management skills, and creative abilities with orientation to detail and skills in problem-solving. Computer proficiency to conduct in-person and online training events and to manage the agency’s Learning Management System. Ability to respond calmly and non-judgmentally to others, including persons in crisis. Ability to work with a team under the direction of the Program Director, while demonstrating the ability to think critically and plan and execute independent work. Ability to demonstrate cultural and socioeconomic proficiency. Understanding of trauma informed care. Required Internal Certification/Trainings: Bi-annual TB skin test/medical report. We are a busy practice with a waiting list, so are growing the practice to accommodate additional clients. The current position is part-time only (minimum 6-8 hours per week, potentially up to 20 hours per week), and the counselor who joins the practice will be sharing office space with other counselors. Primary working hours will be Mondays and/or Fridays, and there is an option for other weekday availability via evening office appointments (at/after 5pm) or via secure telehealth at any time of day, if desired.
New Perspectives will assist the hired clinician in credentialing with the payers with whom we are in-network.
Qualifications (minimum): · Current independent clinical licensure without restriction as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). · Current valid clinical malpractice insurance · Knowledge of and experience with behavioral therapy techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy · Ability to work effectively and supportively to offer safe counseling services among diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ · Advanced knowledge of treatment strategies such as DBT, EMDR, etc. desired but not required · Experience working with children ages 5 & up strongly preferred
