The RN or LPN will be responsible for executing all duties on a professional level and works closely with the clinical staff, employees, and patients. The position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: Directs the overall coordination of medical treatment under the supervision of the medical director and in conjunction with the Full Time and PRN Nurses in our residential program. This includes residential support, sick calls, medicine distribution, case management, emergency plans and safety practices, and health service policies and procedures with assigned chemically dependent patients in accordance with requirements of the Maryland Board of Examiners of Professional Medical Licensure. The special education teacher will be responsible for assisting with the creation and/or updating of educational plans and accommodations to narrow educational gaps and move the student towards their potential. Providing consultation to family members regarding IEPs, 504s, specific learning disabilities, and appropriate interventions. Responsibilities include communicating with families, administration/IEP teams, counselors, and students; linking students and their families to school and community resources.
REQUIREMENTS
The Special Education Teacher in this position must possess:
-A degree in Special Education or relevant experience in an educational field of practice
-Communication skills, both oral and written
-Ability to work with students one-on-one and in small groups
-Availability to work a flexible schedule with before, during and/or after school hours.
