Post-doc position in Neuroscience: Uppsala University
Uppsala University We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral position within the Zebrafish Neuronal Networks group at the Dept. of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology (Uppsala University, Swede... n). Our research group currently consist of two post-docs, one PhD student and a lab-manager. We investigate the formation and function of neuronal networks in zebrafish, with a focus on the locomotor network in the spinal cord (established research line) and emotional processing in the brain (new research line). Our goal is to connect the formation of a neuronal circuit with its functionality at both a cellular and an organism level. We do this by using a range of techniques to reveal how cells are generated and integrated within a network and how their activity affects behaviour. For example, we employ CRISPR/Cas9 mediated knock-in to label new neuronal populations to observe their integration within the nervous system through time-lapse imaging taken with Confocal and Light-Sheet microscopy. To study the function of specific neurons within a circuit we use optogenetics and calcium imaging combined with the analysis of animal behaviour. Furthermore, we use single cell RNA sequencing to identify subspecialization within neuronal populations and aim to establish viral tracing to investigate the connectome of defined neuronal populations.
Uppsala University This position will include standard molecular biology tasks, managing zebrafishfish breeding and maintaining appropriate records and zebrafish embryos. Work including phenotypical... studies and work with microscopes could be part of the duties.
This position is a joint post between Koltowska’s lab and DanioReadout. DanioReadout provides a full-offer, customized, genome engineering and substance exposure service integrated with phenotypic evaluation in the intact zebrafish embryo. Our three main service areas are the modelling of human genetic diseases, with experience in generating nearly 200 novel gene knock-out models, substance exposure studies and human cancer modelling. All service areas are integrated with a unique in-house developed automated image capture pipeline and data analysis using artificial intelligence. We are open to meeting facility users’ needs, by developing disease models and analysis methods specific for each project. Koltowska’s lab focuses on lymphatic vessel development. We utilise transgenic and mutant lines in conjunction with microscopy to study the molecular factors necessary for lymphatic vessel formation and function.

Postdoctoral Fellow in Nanobiotechnology
Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence The Vascular Diversity group, headed by Dr. Rudra Nayan Das, at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (SNIoE), is hosting postdoctoral applicants interested in applying for the ‘DST ... National Postdoctoral Fellowship in Nano Science and Technology’. The fellowships are awarded by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. The work will be done in collaboration with Dr. Soumyananda Chakraborti, BITS Pilani. The project involves developing protein nanocages for drug delivery using a pre-clinical zebrafish model. The work would combine in vitro protein engineering with in vivo live-imaging in zebrafish. Prior experience with cloning, protein expression and purification is desirable, but not necessary. Previous experience of working with zebrafish is not a prerequisite.
Eligibility requirements: The applicants should either hold a Ph.D. degree in Science or Engineering or should have submitted the Ph.D. thesis. The candidate should be below 40 years of age at the time of application.
15 PhD positions in zebrafish regenerative genomics, bioinformatics, and data visualisation (DANIO-ReCODE MSCA Doctoral Network), starting in 2025.
Multiple (see job description) The principal objective of DANIO-ReCODE is to provide world-class doctoral training to a new generation of early-career researchers interested in understanding the complex and mul... tilayered process of tissue regeneration. DANIO-ReCODE will combine the multidisciplinary expertise of 15 research laboratories at renowned EU and UK scientific institutions to unravel the regulatory mechanisms of heart, brain, and eye regeneration by employing the unique and highly tractable zebrafish model system. Since the vertebrate gene complement is highly conserved, applying the knowledge of regeneration mechanisms from non-mammalian models such as zebrafish could identify genetic underpinnings, which when manipulated in mammals, could strongly boost the mammalian regenerative potential. DANIO-ReCODE will thus nurture a cohort of exceptional doctoral candidates and turn them into interdisciplinary experts in computational and developmental biology, providing comprehensive training that spans experimental work, bioinformatics, visualisation, and industry applications.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia The Liao Laboratory at the Center for Craniofacial Innovation at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute in affiliation with the Department of Surgery is seeking a ... highly motivated research fellow interested in craniofacial developmental biology and genetics. It is a particularly exciting time to carry out these studies at CHOP as we are integrating data institution-wide, across research centers, clinical informatics, deep phenotyping, genomic and multi-omic analysis of massive biorepositories of congenital conditions, cancers and pediatric diseases. We are eager to make translational advances to realize the goal of precision medicine to improve the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and pediatric conditions.
We are specifically interested in recruiting a candidate with experience in human genetics, developmental biology or disease models. Working knowledge of zebrafish genetics and tools is highly desirable. We have a robust pipeline of identifying human genes that are associated rare craniofacial conditions, where we apply zebrafish, human iPSC/organoid or mouse models to dissect the developmental genetic basis of craniofacial malformations.
The fellow will join a collaborative group of scientists who study the basic and translational biology of facial morphogenesis, cranial neural crest specification and development. In this instance, the fellow’s work will focus on functional genomics of human candidate genes implicated in orofacial clefts. We are interested in the basic biology of epithelial development, RNA splicing, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, neural crest cell specification, migration, differentiation and potential for regeneration. We integrate the approaches of developmental and stem cell biology, and use multi-disciplinary tools to explore human tissue regeneration and disease.
