Founded in 1910, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services is a long-standing, successful non-profit organization and is one of the largest free-standing behavioral health providers in the country, providing a full continuum of care. We are now seeking a highly qualified Associate Program Director for our Psychiatry Residency Program, which is now in its fifth year of operation through a partnership with Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. In addition to clinical services and resident recruitment, the Associate Program Director will also supervise PG2-PG4 resident physicians in an outpatient residency clinic setting.

Duties may include:

The Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorders Unit (AB2) at McLean Hospital is a 42-bed inpatient adult unit that specializes in the treatment of psychotic disorders, including many patients experiencing their first episode or in the early course of their illness, often with catatonia and/or comorbid substance use disorders. AB2 prides itself in being an active teaching unit and training environment for PGY2 residents of the MGH/McLean residency, Harvard medical students, and other disciplines, and all medical staff on AB2 have Harvard Medical School teaching appointments. At UTHSC we have a small friendly program that is affiliated with an excellent children’s hospital LeBonheur where the fellows collaborate with pediatrics and pediatric specialties doing both inpatient consults and outpatient clinic. Our inpatient experience is a Lakeside hospital which is one of the largest area psychiatric hospital with the full spectrum of care. We also have a psycho oncology clinic at St Jude. Additionally fellows learn psychotherapy with psychology interns in a psychotherapy clinic.
Our fellows have child psychiatry didactics on Thursday afternoon and are also integrated into the pediatric fellows research didactics.
