Spark is an early-stage 501(c)(3) nonprofit community development intermediary that brings a unique, collaborative, and community-based approach to economic development in the Omaha/Council Bluffs region. Our mission is to help profoundly transform disinvested neighborhoods into thriving and prosperous communities.
The Community Engagement Coordinator’s primary focus will be to collaborate with stakeholders, with a special focus on neighborhood-based stakeholders, to build and launch holistic plans, programs, and projects that strengthen neighborhoods. The Coordinator will authentically engage and listen to community partners, help build their social capital, and serve as a bridge to external resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategy, Relationships & Brainstorming Projects - Build and maintain strong, trusting, and professional relationships with public, private, non-profit and community partners
2. Engagement, Community Organizing & Communication - Oversee development and implementation of our community engagement, consensus organizing, and empowerment processes
3. Planning, Studies & Evaluation - Directly facilitate planning and visioning initiatives through authentic interactions with community leaders
4. Implementation - Work with internal team members and external partners to develop and connect long-term programming (services, events, resources, etc.,) for projects
