The Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County is seeking a Coordinator of Business Development and Expansion, a strategist with the ability to develop and implement effective economic development programs with state and local/regional groups, including synchronizing workforce development and other activities among businesses and relevant organizations.

The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline appropriate to the position and job related experience. In addition, the successful candidate must exhibit excellent presentation, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as high-level oral and written communication competencies. The right person will be an economic development practitioner with a thorough knowledge of economic development processes and practices, including site selection and business retention and expansion. In addition, the candidate will need a good knowledge of federal, state and local economic and community development programs.

Other salient skills include the ability to deal effectively with stakeholders and clients; cultivate, recognize and develop leads among target sectors through research, local/global business connections, and trade groups, and maintain an accurate client management database. A further competency would include comfort with public speaking and projection of a consistent, genuine, high-quality, can-do professional image and messaging aimed at broader audiences, prpromoting EDASC and Skagit County through media (press releases, social media, website, and advertising both print and electronic.
