Planner I/II

Planner I & II are in the professional planning series. They perform a variety of well-defined professional planning duties including, but not limited to land use, issuance of zoning authorization for building permits, GIS zoning maps, and subdivisions.

PLANNER I

Planner I is an entry level planning position that is responsible for assisting Senior Planners in analysis, drafting and developing a variety of policies and procedures related to County Planning and Development.

Education:

Experience:

Planner III

County Planner
Huerfano County
Notice is hereby given that Huerfano County is accepting applications for a County Planner. This is a full-time position at 35 hours a week; the position qualifies for County offered benefits. The starting salary is $45,000 to $60,000. depending on qualifications, this is a non-exempt position. The County Planner manages, coordinates, and supervises all aspects of the Land Use Office regarding application and enforcement of zoning and subdivision regulations, medical marijuana licensing and other land uses within the County to ensure the prompt and efficient operation of the office. Prepares all Land Use applications for review by Planning Commission. Schedules Planning Commission meetings and records all proceedings. Works with the County Administrator, County Attorney, Board of County Commissioners and the Planning Commission to establish regulations and policies to promote the health, safety, welfare, quality of life and protection of land values for the citizens and properties within unincorporated Huerfano County. Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Business Administration or Public Administration, or closely related field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or equivalent related experience or training 2 to 6 years. Preferred experience in plan review, zoning administration, surveying and development consultancy.
