Project Coordinator

They help tribal member clients bring about and fulfill new behaviors that will lead to successful communication in their interpersonal relationships. Counselors support tribal member clients in achieving goals at work, in relationships, and their lifestyle and health. For those tribal member clients that may have substance use issues, the counselor is responsible for developing a comprehensive understanding of the causes and effects of drug and alcohol use on individuals and their families. The counselor will assess substance use and risky behaviors that may have contributed to emotional or physical health problems such as anger, depression, anxiety malnutrition, emphysema, or diabetes.

Chief Judge

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians seeks a Chief Judge to preside over the workings of the Tribal Court. SBMI Tribal Court is a dynamic place to work offering the opportunity for exercising considerable independent judgment in rulings on motions and adjudicatory cases, conducting hearings and deciding cases in a fair and impartial manner. The Chief Judge is often referred to as ‘the face of the Court’ meaning the Chief Judge must observe and maintain high standards of conduct so that the integrity of the Tribal Court will be preserved and the goodwill of the larger community towards the Tribal Court will continue to grow. The person holding such position must be patient, dignified and courteous to all appearing before the Court, according every person in a proceeding the right to be heard.



The Chief Judge works closely with the Tribal Court Director and the Clerk of the Court to ensure that the highest standards of care are implemented in the operations of the Court. The Chief Judge serves at the pleasure of the Tribal Council.

TRIBAL YOUTH SUICIDE PREVENTION PROJECT DIRECTOR

The Tribal Youth Suicide Prevention Project Director will work with the CEO/Principal Investigator (PI) and will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the TYSP Project and ensure follow through on client family assistance plans. Develop and implement the proposed policies, procedures, and protocols for the TYSP Project; and work closely with the CEO/PI and the Project Evaluator on the project performance measurement and performance assessment tasks.
