Under limited supervision of the Director of Library Development, serves as a Public Library Consultant specializing in the area of continuing education (CE) for public library staff. The Consultant works independently and as a cooperative member of the Library Development Services team.
Partial list of duties includes:
Create a statewide CE program for public library staff, with the goal of improving the skills for staff at all levels thereby raising the quality of library services
Offer a variety of training in order to develop staff to meet the informational needs of South Carolinians.
Work with internal and external content providers to plan learning events. Develop effective delivery models, schedule and facilitate these events, and coordinate promotional efforts.
Consult with public library directors and supervisors via email, telephone, and site visits about CE issues and opportunities for staff.
Develop content and execute trainings in person and in electronic formats for defined audiences.

Prairie-River Library District Director $60,000+ DOE. 40 hours per week. Benefits: vacation, sick leave, medical insurance, PERSI. The Prairie River Library District consists of eight small rural branches located generally along the Clearwater River between Lapwai and Kooskia, and on the beautiful Camas Prairie, with the Headquarters branch in Lapwai, ID. PRLD is an independent taxing district and a member of the Valnet consortium, with nearly 50 public and school libraries in north-central Idaho and southeast Washington.

The Director manages the administrative and financial activities of the district, working with a dedicated team of about 20 staff members, and an informed, involved elected Board of Directors who share a commitment to the quality of literacy and library programs and services that impact residents of our area, as well as participates in the operation of the consortium. MLS degree is preferred, but equivalent education and experience will be considered.

The Emporia Public Library is seeking applications for an Assistant Library Director. This position requires professional and administrative duties in planning, implementing and evaluating library services, and will directly supervise library staff. The Assistant Director will be responsible for daily operations and acts on behalf of the Executive Director in their absence.
