Description
Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (http://www.drake.edu/cphs/) invites applications for a part-time, nine-month (August 15 to May 15th), non-tenure track position in the Clinical Sciences Department. Candidates must be a pharmacist licensed in the state of Iowa or eligible for licensure. Experience as a pharmacist preceptor or post-graduate training (i.e., PGY1, PGY2, clinical fellowship) is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in sterile product preparation and pediatrics or oncology. Primary responsibilities include teaching in the Pharmacy Skills and Applications course series (PSA), assisting with coordination of one or more courses, assisting in managing PSA laboratories, and coordinating classroom activities. Depending on expertise and experience, the candidate would teach in additional courses. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, commitment to excellence in teaching, willingness to participate in scholarship, and strong administrative skills. This position will also be responsible for mentoring students, participating in College and University faculty governance, and engaging in scholarship efforts appropriate for non-tenure track faculty.

The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician assists with the preparation and dispensing of medications for patients served by Broadlawns Medical Center Inpatient Pharmacy. All duties are performed under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Fills unit dose medication cassettes for all nursing units using computer generated refill lists. Delivers and exchanges cassettes for BMC according to pre-established delivery schedules.
Refills automated dispensing cabinets according to departmental policy.
Runs reports as requested in the automated systems.
Calculates compounds and delivers mixed intravenous solutions and parenteral nutrition solutions for inpatients or outpatients. Admixes chemotherapy agents as assigned.
Provides regular delivery of medications to patient care areas.
Processes all returned medication, enters credits to patient’s profile, returns medication to stock as appropriate.
