Early Childhood Educator/Assistant
Wild Wonders Early Learning Program
Wild Wonders is a Star 4 early learning program seeking a full-time early childhood educator OR assistant.

Prospective candidates must be willing to learn new things and take annual license required trainings in addition to STARS to Quality level trainings, be able to build relationships with children, be punctual and consistent, strive to maintain professionalism, communicate clearly with fellow educators and clients, and love to work with children.

Job description:
- Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- Maintain equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- May assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
-Assist in any other reasonable job-related duties as assigned by the owner/director

Requirements:
-Can provide a current cpr/1st aid certification OR upon hiring, will complete CPR/1st aid within the first 30 days and receive reimbursement upon 6 months of employment
-Can pass a state licensing background and fingerprinting check
-High school diploma or GED
-18 years of age+

Early Childhood Assistant Teacher
YWCA Helena Caterpillars Program
A crucial and integral component of YWCA Helena’s work includes the Caterpillar Center. Caterpillars was established to offer respite childcare for women working on their recovery and self-sufficiency. Caterpillars now serves as the parenting support for women in recovery, provides supervised parenting time for non-custodial parents, facilitates safe custodial exchanges, provides parenting coaching and classes, and children’s mental health services. Our newest venture is the establishment of a trauma informed and responsive licensed childcare facility.

The assistant teacher will be the secondary provider of day to day care for children ages 0-12 years who have experienced trauma, exhibit challenging behaviors, and may be unable to participate in typical community based childcare. Utilizing consultation from child behavioral health specialists and developmental assessments, the assistant teacher will assist the Lead Teacher and Supervisor in structuring and implementing child-centered, engaging, and educational programming for children who have experienced trauma.

This position will be an instrumental team member to a multi-disciplinary and holistic team at the YWCA. Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Child Development or related field from an accredited university is required. A minimum of two year’s experience in an early childhood program, licensed childcare facility, Head Start or similar program is required.

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, typical business hours
Compensation: $14-$16 per hour

Caterpillars Parenting Advocate
YWCA Helena Caterpillars Program
Caterpillars serves as an integral parenting support for women in recovery as well as the community in general, provides supervised parenting time for non-custodial parents, facilitates safe custodial changes, provides parenting coaching and classes, and children’s mental health. This position will be charged with overseeing our community program which provides supervised parenting time to non-custodial parents, safe custody exchanges, parenting consultation, coaching, education, and referrals.
This position assists parents who are separated from their children for a multitude of reasons and are seeking reunification. Reasons for separation. Include involvement in Child Protective Services, involvement with the criminal justice system, undergoing investigation, court orders, etc. This position facilitates parents in obtaining services in the community and gaining the skills they need to be healthy, safe, and reliable parents to their children. The successful candidate assists parents in gaining community and in-home supports that can prevent removal and support reunification efforts.
Finally, this position is an instrumental team member to a multi-disciplinary and holistic team the YWCA. The Parenting Advocate facilitates an ongoing approach to both align YWCA’s effort to prioritize child(ren) and parent(s) reunification.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Child Development, or related field from an accredited university is required. A minimum of two years’ experience in the area of child development, social work, legal advocacy, or similar field required.
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, typical business hours, some evening and weekend work may be required.
Compensation: $16-$18
