Laborer/Transfer Station Attendant/Truck Driver
Town of New Hampton
40 hour a week full-time position with the Public Works Department in support of the day-to-day operations for both Highway and Transfer Station. The work schedule will include Saturdays at the Transfer Station/Recycling Center and will include operating a skid steer and backhoe.

Must be able to perform manual tasks related to highway maintenance, solid waste handling and plowing and sanding. Sanding and snowplowing experience is a plus. CDL-B preferred but willing to train to obtain the CDL-B within 12 months of hire.

Heavy Equipment Operator

The Town of Henniker, NH Highway Department is currently seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator. They will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, excavators, trucks equipped with snowplows, other snow and ice activities. TYPICAL DUTIES:

Truck Drivers

POSITION: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
TRUCK DRIVER – FULL TIME, UNION POSITION

PAY RATE: $19.17 – 27.00 per hour

SUMMARY:
The Truck Driver operates all types and tonnage of trucks, and may operate tractors, rollers, and mowers, as well as perform a variety of manual tasks in connection with such operations. Truck drivers work under the immediate supervision of the Highway Superintendent, and/or other appropriate supervisory employees, and may be directed to supervise the work of other employees.

The Truck Driver works in a moderately noisy setting and in a variety of environments. Physical requirements include the ability to shovel, lift, bend, walk, sit or stand for long periods of time and carry objects weighing one hundred (100) pounds or more, as well as have the ability to work with a variety of cleaning, snow removal, lawn care and construction/maintenance related equipment.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

 Operates heavy trucks in the transportation of sand, gravel, stone, and supplies.

 Operates light trucks to carry tools, equipment, and supplies to and from jobs.
 Performs road sanding and plowing in the winter months.
 Operates tractor and mower to cut large areas of grass.
 Occasionally services and performs minor repairs on equipment and vehicles.
 Assists in loading and unloading materials and equipment transported by truck.
 Performs the duties of laborer as assigned, when not engaged as a driver, which may include lifting and carrying objects weighing one hundred (100) pounds or more.
 Performs such other related duties as may be required from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, with two (2) or more years of experience in the capacity of truck driving; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. We are in need of enthusiastic individuals who care about the environment enough to assist in assuring that trash and recycling materials are properly handled. Recycling is mandatory in the Town of Chester, and materials are expected to be pre-sorted and brought to our Transfer Station for correct placement into labeled areas.

The Transfer Station is open Wednesdays from 5pm to 730pm and Saturdays from 7am to 2pm. This is a part-time position averaging between ten and twelve hours weekly.

On-Call Snowplow Operator
Town of Bow Department of Public Works
The Town of Bow is seeking an On-Call Snowplow Operator. The Town has a fleet of winter maintenance equipment ranging from pick-up trucks to 6-wheel dump trucks with wing plows. When storm intensity and/or staffing shortages dictate a need, we will reach out to the On-Call Drivers to report for duty and assist in winter maintenance operations.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have a clean driving record, a CDL B License with Air Brake endorsement. Must reside within 30 minutes travel time of Bow Department of Public Works Building. Snowplowing with wing plow experience is a plus.

Interested individuals should apply using the Town’s Employment Application. All respondents must highlight the scope of their plowing experience, references and equipment used.

The wage for this Seasonal Position is $30.00/per hour, plus an end of Season Bonus of $500.00 for perfect attendance. This position is also eligible for Overtime for hours accrued after the completion of a 40-hour consecutive work week.

Finalist must complete a criminal background check and supply a current copy of their Motor Vehicle History.
