Planning & Community Development Specialist

This is a new position in the Planning Division of the Community Development Department that will support the Town in its efforts to collaborate with neighborhood residents, with special attention to community development priority areas such as the West Southern Pines community. A primary focus of the position is proactively addressing the needs of lower-income residents by pursuing funding opportunities, managing community development programing, and building the capacity of local organizations. The Planner position is a dynamic position working in both short and long-range planning. The Planner will work independently or in coordination with the Senior Planner in the management of major development related projects.
