Payroll Specialist
Union County Auditor
Under general supervision of the Chief Budgetary Officer, this position provides for budgetary support for all payroll activities, including OPERS and benefits processing and completion of all period-end closing. Performs other related duties as required, including assisting with budgetary processes as assigned. The position has no supervisory duties. Required qualifications: completion of secondary education or equivalent, two or four year accounting degree is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities, specifically find accounting, work experience income at finance. High emphasis on experience with fund accounting, specifically clear understanding of all aspects of payroll processing, OPERS, benefits plans etc. Current experience with Munis budgetary and payroll system as required. Mastery level preferred. Grade 11; pay range: $18.44-$27.66

Educational and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university (Accountancy degree preferred)
• OR successful completion of at least 16 semester hours or equivalent in accounting or related field from an accredited college, university, trade, technical or vocational school beyond high school level
• OR possess at least three years’ experience in accounting or related field per Section117.09 of the Ohio Revised Code
• Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license.
