Here’s what you will do:

As an Appellate Review Specialist, you will resolve disputes by issuing a legally binding Order on Reconsideration after the completion of a thorough analysis of the claim closure and disputed issues, including compliance with claim closure statute. The Order on Reconsideration is written by applying the Oregon Revised Statutes, the Oregon Administrative Rules, case law, and the Workers' Compensation Division bulletins, policies, procedures and other applicable guidelines to individual, complex case specific facts. Insurance and Risk Management Specialist

The Insurance & Risk Management department is seeking an Insurance & Risk Management Specialist. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE),12-month, professional faculty position.

Within the Insurance and Risk Management Services department, the Insurance & Risk Management Specialist will provide a range of services to the university community and external business partners related to Oregon State University’s insurance and risk management program. The Insurance & Risk Management Specialist will provide excellent customer service and expertise while serving as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert for insurance and risk topics.

The person in this position will take an active role in the university’s annual insurance renewal process. This work will include data collection and analysis to accurately capture and report on university exposures. This includes accessing and handling sensitive and confidential information.

Your duties will include medical record organization, coordinating/running clinics for Independent Medical Exams, and other administrative tasks. While at a clinic, you are responsible for opening/closing procedures, you will be interacting with and assisting the physicians as well as checking in patients, scribing for the doctors, and communicating regularly with the corporate office. This position will include travel along the I-5 corridor. Your home base is always our corporate office in Keizer. A company car will be provided and you are compensated for drive time.
This position is full-time (40+ hrs). However, the hours are very non-traditional. Many days will start before 8am and/or end after 5pm; however, you may also be done by 2pm and/or start at 10am. Approximately one Saturday per month.
