The Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating and administering content on all social media platforms, increasing channel audiences, and ensuring customer engagement, using content that resonates with the interests of the intended audience, and unique to the typical interactions of each channel. Field Arborist - Virginia Tech University
Virginia Tech University Reporting to the Urban Forest Manager and University Arborist, the Field Arborist provides direction as a working field supervisor of tree workers and implements advanced arboricultural techniques to plant, prune, remove, and preserve trees on university property. Develops and implements arboriculture technique and safety training for tree workers, urban forestry interns, and arboriculture apprentices. Schedules, assigns, supervises, and audits tree care work orders for routine maintenance, emergency response, and plant health care programming. Maintains campus tree inventory data and regularly performs tree asset analysis for management planning. Assists the University Arborist with construction site visits, interdepartmental consults, tree inspections, tree planting plans, and other programmatic planning.

University of Virginia Job Description Landscape Plant Healthcare Specialist duties Include:
Diagnose and treat landscape pest, cultural or nutrient issues with emphasis on public safety Be able to interpret soil test analyses and treat accordingly. Be well-versed in non-toxic pest controls including bio-controls, pest predators and organic products. Be able to operate a variety of application equipment including backpack sprayers to truck/tractor mounted sprayers / spreaders. Install and maintain highly specialized landscaping across Grounds, with specific attention given to highly visible planters and gardens. Provide direction to and guide staff in completion of special landscaping projects. Advise supervisors, recommend actions regarding the health of plants within landscaping, and implement actions accordingly. Perform all work in accordance with safety rules and procedures, according to OSHA and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines. Be self-motivated with the ability to adjust work hours to accommodate best hours for application of controls In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Three years of experience. Licensure: Valid VA driver's license. Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) Certified Pesticide Applicator's license in categories 3-A and 3-B required. Certification in categories 5-A, 6 and 8 as well as VDACS Fertilizer Applicator Certification preferred. Certification may be required for specific equipment usage. Specialized training and successfully complete written and performance tests to comply with OSHA code may be required.
