Position Summary: Voskuyl Library seeks a collaborative and innovative Collection Development &
Acquisitions Librarian to provide leadership and coordination for developing, managing, and evaluating
the Libraries' collections, both physical and virtual, to support the college’s research and teaching
mission for the Christian liberal arts. Responsibilities include formulating strategic collections planning
and collection development policies, managing the acquisitions budget, and directing collections
projects. The successful candidate will also take the lead in engaging with new modes of collection
building, such as Open Access and Open Educational Resources. This position also serves as a liaison to
assigned academic departments and provides discipline-specific instruction, collection development, and
research services to meet the needs of students and faculty. The successful candidate will demonstrate

Access Services Supervisor

Under the direction of the Head of Access Services, the Access Services Supervisor will assist in all duties that facilitate the functions of the Circulation department and perform Interlibrary Loan Department (ILL) procedures as directed. This position is responsible for the supervision of all circulation activities as well as providing ILL-related services to users as needed. Essential functions of the position will include:

Manage circulation services and assist patrons.
Collaborate to screen, interview, hire, schedule, train, develop, and evaluate student employees.
Supervise library operations and the facility.
Cross-train on library services.
Collaborate with other ILL personnel to deliver resources to patrons.
Manage library stacks, course reserves, study space reservations and overdue/fine records and payment.
Oversees essential records and statistics.
Participate in staff training sessions.
Complete related user service work.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required
Two years of academic library experience
Two years of supervisory experience in an academic library
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, push loaded carts, shelve heavy books, and lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekend hours
Candidate must have:

Ability to communicate effectively, work cooperatively, and carry out oral and written directions
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to engage in meticulous routines with accuracy and orderliness

Acquisitions Librarian
Folger Shakespeare Library
The Folger Shakespeare Library, located on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, is seeking a creative, collaborative, and experienced Acquisitions Librarian to join its Collections team. Under the supervision of the Associate Librarian for Collection Care and Development, this individual will be responsible for the management and leadership of the Acquisitions Department, which administers a robust acquisition program of both antiquarian and secondary research material, including electronic resources.

The Acquisitions Librarian (AL) will provide supervision and training for Acquisitions staff members and work closely with other units and teams. They will coordinate and monitor the activities of the Acquisitions group, act as the primary point of contact for logistics, and shape acquisition models and create workflows to efficiently acquire specialized and electronic resources. 

The AL will also ensure that the Acquisitions group has the right working tools, and identify needs for new ones. As a key member of the Collections Care and Development team, the AL will serve on local and national committees, participate in continued professional development, and be expected to develop and maintain relationships with vendors and colleagues to support the Folger’s mission through the enhancement of our collection.
