Position Summary Support the delivery of a comprehensive, proactive school counseling program from Early Childhood through Grade 12 that fosters social-emotional learning, the development of adaptive behaviors, and contributes to a safe school environment.
In an ethical and confidential manner, serve as a student advocate, respecting individual differences and supporting the holistic needs of the student population.
Provide universal supports including social emotional learning lessons in the Early Childhood-Grade 5 classrooms using the Second Step curriculum, as well as services targeted to small groups of students, such as social skills or friendship groups.
Work individually with students as needed for short-term counseling and provide referrals to outside providers for long-term therapeutic support.
Position Qualifications K-12 Counseling or School/Educational Psychologist Certification
Experience in one or more levels of elementary, middle or high school
Experience with Responsive Classroom and Second Step is preferred
