Worldwide In-Country ESL/EFL Projects for the U.S. Department of State in 2022/2023
U.S. Department of State English Language Programs The English Language Fellow Program sends experienced U.S. TESOL professionals on paid in-country teaching assignments at universities and other academic institutions around the world.
As a U.S. Department of State public diplomacy initiative, Fellows are cultural ambassadors that promote English language learning and mutual understanding through cultural exchange. Fellow projects are 10-month, full-time positions for professionals with a graduate degree in English language teaching and TESOL teaching experience. In return, the program provides professionals with a platform to build skills that can greatly enhance their TESOL careers.
The English Language Fellow Program is now recruiting applicants for the 2022-2023 academic year. The English Language Fellow Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by Georgetown University. The 2022-2023 Fellow application is now open. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all projects have been filled. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer the Director of English as a Second Language (ESL) and Bilingual Education will lead the critical work involved in developing and implementing a district-wide vision for the achievement of students who are English Learners (ELs) and dual language learners that maintains high expectations for student learning and is tightly aligned with the district’s vision for core instruction. This person will also be tasked with developing district-wide systems, structures, and protocols that align with the vision to improve the teaching and learning of ELs that is in line with Massachusetts and federal regulations.
This is an ideal position for a visionary and organized leader with a proven track record of systems-level thinking and implementation, problem-solving and instructional leadership.
