Chatham County Planning Dept This position will be responsible for the enforcement of various land use ordinances within the county’s planning and zoning jurisdiction. Enforcement will involve but not limited to conducting site inspections for potential violations, taking photos, speaking with potential violators, building case files, and issuing notices of violation. Inspecting sites for compliance of violations, compliance with approved conditions of use, or other needed site work as determined is also required; attending County meetings as needed; reviewing residential and commercial site plans for compliance and permitting for zoning approvals; scheduling and facilitating pre-application meetings for the development team and responding to inquiries from citizens, contractors, and builders concerning ordinance provisions and enforcement regulations and assists other departments and associates. Must deal courteously and professionally when enforcing related ordinances and codes or interacting with the public or elected officials at all times.

Land Use Planner, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County
Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Planning and Development Services Responsibilities of the position will include providing information and assistance on zoning, the rezoning process and the electronic site plan submittal and review system to customers and staff. Code Compliance Officer
City of Lenoir Employees in this position work with property owners, tenants, developers, and the public to ensure compliance with the City's ordinances, under general direction of the Planning Director. The Code Compliance Officer may respond to and investigate community complaints, perform inspections, review and issue permits, issue notices of violation and stop work orders, write civil citations, hold fact-finding hearings, prepare bid specifications for remediation and demolition contractors, carry out orders of abatement issued by the City Council, and advise the public on the City's ordinances related to minimum housing, zoning, driveways, floodplain development, subdivisions, property maintenance, and signage. Works closely with law enforcement officers and other public safety officials (police, fire, utilities, etc.) to identify and comprehensively address code violations and achieve positive outcomes for affected persons and the community at large.
