Attends in-services/staff meetings; exhibits knowledge of current department related issues and participates in performance improvement process. Participates in educational opportunities to increase competency and meet personal needs and goals. Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and standards. Assist with unit needs and patient needs including, but not limited to, set up/break down of sterile delivery tables, room set-up, answering call bells, chart maintenance, answering call bells, and working with the delivery team as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technician program required.
Experience: Six (6) months of OR experience is preferred.
Other: Considerable skill and knowledge of surgical instrumentation, proper sterile technique and knowledge of surgical procedures required. Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Additional education, training, certification, or experience may be required within the department by the nurse leader.
