Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Engagement

The Assistant Director of Corporation and Foundation Engagement works with the Director to create and execute strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporation and foundation prospects that results in significant contributions to UNCW and strengthens scholarly efforts across all academic disciplines. This position reports to the Director of Corporation and Foundation Engagement and works closely with the Associate Provost for Research on managing key grant proposals from identification through stewardship. This position is a team member of the Office of Corporate and Foundation Engagement in University Advancement, working in partnership with units across campus to secure funding from corporations and foundations.

The Assistant Director of Corporation and Foundation Engagement strengthens and grows the corporate and foundation philanthropy program, positioning UNCW to raise significant money through complex, multifaceted, high quality relationships with corporations and foundations. Works collaboratively with faculty, academic administrators and advancement to match university needs, strengths and interests with the interests of prospective foundation and corporate supporters. Manages a portfolio of funding prospects at the local, regional/state and national level. Manages proposal and LOI development for corporate and foundation prospects (write, review and edit content, including narratives, budgets and attachments). Director of Alumni Engagement Programming

UNCW is recruiting for a new leadership role within the Division for University Advancement – the Director of Alumni Engagement Programming. This strategic innovator will focus on initiatives that add value to and enhance the engagement experience of our diverse and vibrant alumni network as well as yield a strong return on investment.

The Director of Alumni Engagement Programming will design, implement and evaluate initiatives that strengthen and advance relationships between the university and its nearly 100,000 alumni with a goal to increase giving. The Director of Alumni Engagement Programming will work collaboratively with other senior leaders within the Division for University Advancement to develop a strategic, holistic and inclusive calendar of engagement programs and initiatives that include volunteer, experiential, philanthropic, and communication opportunities. This role will work collaboratively with the Executive Director of the UNCW Alumni Association and will interface with the Board of Directors.

This position will supervise and mentor an assistant director of alumni engagement programming, may hire a graduate assistant, and will have assigned administrative assistant. In addition to alumni engagement initiatives, this team will help develop and advance programs that engage students from recruitment to commencement to strengthen UNCW’s culture of philanthropy and the donor pipeline.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a seasoned-annual giving professional to recruit a team and lead a robust program beyond the finish line of $100 million comprehensive campaign. With over half of UNCW’s alumni under the age of 40, successful candidates will have experience developing and executing multi-channel campaigns with a focus on digital strategies. The Director of Annual Giving serves as a member of the Division’s leadership team, oversees a department and will directly supervise an associate director of annual giving, two development officers for leadership annual giving and a stewardship coordinator. This position is responsible for managing the infrastructure of a donor-centric, centralized annual giving program while tracking key performance indicators and ensuring progress toward fundraising goals.

Responsible for the management of the university’s development efforts as it relates to annual giving solicitations (gifts up to $25,000) and stewardship targeted to alumni, students, parents, friends and employees. The director works closely with the division’s leadership team, development directors, and volunteer boards to coordinate and increase annual support for UNCW.

Associate Director of Development

The Associate Director works in partnership with the Deans and senior leadership of the University to secure major gifts in support of the University’s strategic fundraising goals.

This position is expected to develop and manage a robust donor prospect portfolio to meet established goals. It would be beneficial for this person to have a solid working knowledge and previous experience in higher education and advancement. This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Advancement.

• Develop meaningful, productive relationships with a portfolio of donors including alumni, friends, and parents to secure philanthropic funding for UNC Pembroke at all levels, including gifts of $25,000 or more.
• Implement solicitation strategies for major gift donors as well as planned gift donors.
• Work with a diverse group of faculty and staff leadership on the successful solicitation of grants and gifts from companies and foundations.
• Partner with the Director of Alumni Relations with identifying and managing alumni cultivation and engagement.
• Identify and cultivate current and new prospects including graduates and other key constituencies.
• Engage Deans, administrators, and faculty in cultivation and solicitation of prospects.
• Plan and execute donor cultivation activities.
• Maintain an active donor prospect visit meeting schedule and meet established goals for donor prospect management.
• Manage a portfolio of 100 – 150 prospects.
• Articulate UNCP’s needs, values and mission through excellent informal and formal communications.

They will develop an overall outreach strategy to renew, retain and acquire donors through direct marketing strategies. This position will have direct contact with One Carolina colleagues, school/unit colleagues and donors.

Direct Marketing (75%): Assist the Associate Director of Annual Giving, Direct Marketing for Schools and Units with planning and implementing the overall strategy for direct marketing for schools and units. Coordinate and implement direct marketing efforts (mail, email, social media, crowdfunding and web) that solicit alumni, donors and friends.

Consulting (10%): Cultivate relationships with school/unit clients across campus. Work closely with development officers, senior leadership and communications professionals in schools/units across campus to identify annual giving needs and plan strategy and appeals. Strategically identify segments for appeals with school/unit clients. Communicate central annual giving strategies and current annual giving best practices with schools/units.

Reporting (10%): Analyze and report past and present fundraising results for schools/units. Use data to set future direct marketing and annual giving strategy.
