Construction Director
TERRANE Consistent with the objective of Terrane as a leader in surveying services, the Survey Director will lead the technical resources for the construction division. This role will lea... d various technical teams in creating and implementing processes and systems to increase company profitability, while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Guide the development and implementation of survey team specific business strategies, functional area strategies and tactics.
· Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of technical employees.
· Develop training programs to provide technical advancement and business resiliency for technical team members, ranging from junior employees to senior licensed LS staff.
· Monitor efficiency and productivity of all technical personnel with accountability for specified volume output.
o Fill-in as necessary to meet production demands.
· Provide senior level surveying expertise, guidance and direction for general need and special surveying problems.
· Mediate legal issues and work with our staff, clients, attorneys, contractors, etc. to help mitigate liability to the company.
· Implement and maintain survey procedures (equipment calibration, code lists, field to finish, etc.) – this includes coordinating with the Drafting Manager and Survey Field Manager.
· Responsible for staffing (hiring/terminations), employee evaluations, mentorship/development and conflict resolution of all technical team members.
· Monitor new technology and evaluate purchases of new equipment and software.
· Manage current client and account relationships and identify areas for potential client growth.
Assist in supervising survey crews and office technicians
Accurately and efficiently perform land survey work for public and private clients on time ... and within budget
Oversees the field data collection, office reduction and calculations for base map preparation, boundary and easement surveys, and construction surveying
Periodic short periods of travel may be needed if project requires
Reports to the Oregon Survey Manager
Job Requirements
Role also includes supporting other PACE offices
Efficient oral and written communication skills
Strong business development skills
Strong office and field skills performing urban and rural surveys
Ability and desire to acquire new clients, projects and grow team
Strong leadership skills
Ability to work and thrive in a multi-discipline, team environment
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
Familiarity with Trimble equipment a plus
Experience with Bentley Microstation, 3D scanning and/or UAS Drone Technology a plus
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Dynamic and outgoing personality with the ability to build new client relationships
Professional Land Surveyor license in Oregon in good standing
Two or more years of licensed experience

Ability to carry instruments and equipment up to 50 lbs. for long periods of time under various weather and environmental conditions or terrain
Regularly requires some stooping, standing, walking, or crouching
Use of hands, arms, eyes, and voice
Must also be able to use computers, and communications systems
