Ob/gyn to remotely read no more than 8 limited OB ultrasounds a month
New Life Community Health Center
New Life Community Health Center (NLCHC) has been in existence as a volunteer run, faith-based free health center since 2000. We are in the heart of Queens and seek to serve the poor and marginalized in Central Queens with a special focus on undocumented
immigrants, those who are homeless, and those who have experienced sexual violence. The health center offers free comprehensive internal medicine
services Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. A women's health program operates one Thursday a month.
In 2020 we began partnering with Borough Pregnancy Counseling Center (BPCC) to assist their parenting program and pursue an expansion of services for expecting mothers. Recently we purchased an ultrasound machine through a grant and gifts from the Knights of Columbus Council in Oakland Gardens, NY. This machine will allow us to utilize ultrasound images in speaking with women about their pregnancy.
Our Director of Women's Health, Shantae Rodriguez, has 17 years' experience as a Physician Assistant working in Women's Health and the Emergency Department. She is certified by the National Institute of Family Life Advocates (NILFA) to perform Limited OB Ultrasounds. Our plan is for Shantae to perform the limited OB Ultrasounds and offer the preliminary reading to the patient.
We are seeking an Ob/Gyn with a life-affirming perspective to partner with us in providing official readings of these ultrasounds and consultation as needed. We do not anticipate any
more than 6-8 ultrasounds in any given month and likely less than that based on our monthly Women's Health Day and historic client load. The Ob/Gyn providing this service could read remotely. This person would need to have a New York State medical license. Malpractice coverage could be provided through our
Federal Torte Claims Act coverage for Free Clinics. We will be referring these patients out for their ongoing OB care as we will not be providing OB care on site.
Contact Dave Jennings, Exec Director, for more details.

Medical Provider
Good News Community Healthcare Center
We are a non-profit faith- and community-based health center serving our neighbors in Rockwood and
East Multnomah County. Our mission is to “provide excellent physical, mental, and spiritual care to the
underserved with the love of Christ.” Our vision is to see “Christ glorified in transformed communities.”
And our core values include: Compassion, Hope, Relationship, Integrity, Servanthood, and
Transformation.

Clinic History:
In 2006, Dr. Bob Sayson and his wife, Alice were serving at an event in the Rockwood neighborhood, Bob
was struck by the crowd of people seeking access to simple medical care from which they were
otherwise cut off. Impressed, he invited a core group of friends and mentors to pray with him about
what role he might have in God’s plan to restore Rockwood. While reflecting on Matthew 14:28 and
Romans 15, Bob and Alice were compelled that this was Christ’s movement, and resolved to leave
practice, downsize life, and volunteer their time and service to see Rockwood redeemed. They had no
idea the movement it would inspire. Shortly after that decision, a donor stepped forward and acquired a
dilapidated tanning salon: the site which would become the Good News Clinic. Over 100 volunteers converged on a community blight, turning it into a beautiful medical clinic.
On May 5, 2007, the clinic opened its doors to its neighbors. Since then and through the course of some 35,000 visits, the name of
Christ has been lifted up in healthcare, and the hearts of some 9,000 patients have known joy and hope
while experiencing physical healing. Alongside Bob, over 80 volunteers each year have carried the Good
News, some 200 students have witnessed professional, sacrificial service, and the staff has expanded to
grow the programs that have so blessed the community.
