PostDoc in Genetic epidemiology
University of Texas Health
The Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases (Biggs Institute) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) is seeking a postdoctoral candidate to join an interdisciplinary team to study genetic variations and other molecular profiles in relation to Alzheimer’s type dementia and vascular contributions to cognitive impairment and dementia. The Biggs Institute at UTHSCSA is one of 33 centers in the US recognized as a National Institute on Aging-designated Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) and the only one in Texas. Research activities will be primarily based on the data from the Framingham Heart Study (FHS), cohorts participating in the NHLBI’s Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) program and the Alzheimer’s Disease Sequencing Project (ADSP). Additional data will be available through ongoing studies within our ADRC, the UK Biobank and the Cohorts for Heart and Aging Research in Genomic Epidemiology (CHARGE) consortium.

Postdoctoral Fellows and PhD Students
Bilkent University
Alkan Lab for Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics at Bilkent University, Turkey, is looking for outstanding, self-motivated graduate students (both M.Sc. and Ph.D.) and postdoctoral fellows to join our project funded by the Horizon Europe program. Our project, “Processing-in-memory architectures and programming libraries for bioinformatics algorithms (BioPIM)”, aims to accelerate bioinformatics analyses using modern processing-in-memory (PIM) hardware technologies. Together with our partners from ETH Zurich, IBM, Institut Pasteur, UPMEM, CNRS, Bar-Ilan, and TECHNION, we will focus on co-designing algorithms and data structures commonly used in bioinformatics together with emerging PIM hardware technologies to obtain the highest benefit in terms of cost, energy efficiency, and time savings in genome sequence analysis.

postdoc & phd. student
Cornell University
Hi folks.

The Wei lab is looking for new members.
We have NIH funded positions to work on Ancestral Recombination Graph applications in biobank data in the next 5 years.
We also generally look for people to push the boundaries in other popgen/statgen directions.
Our lab just hired a full-time C++ programmer who previously worked for AWS to help our students with their developing needs.

Feel free to find me to discuss more during CGSI.
