Come join a program with a long history of excellence and a large service area. We have a variety of hourly positions open from full-time to PRN, in addition to a variety of different job duties.

All positions have a school contract associated ranging from 250-600 hours in addition to working in the clinic. Job duties in the clinic range from rehabilitation, sports performance enhancement, and working directly with physicians in their clinics. We are able to bill for services in rehabilitation, so our AT’s treat patients autonomously.

Rehabilitation & Return To Play Programs
Develops, implements, and oversees appropriate rehabilitation and return to play programs for athletes.

Patient Records
Maintains proper documentation and record keeping of all athletic injuries, and related referrals and doctors notes.

Training & Education
Participates in Franciscan Health Sports Medicine educational outreach programs for local schools, youth sports organizations, parent, and community groups to promote conditioning and injury prevention programs.

Injury Prevention
Promotes prevention of injuries through the recommendation of appropriate conditioning programs, monitoring environmental conditions and maintaining protective equipment.

Injury Treatment
Treats injuries using appropriate treatment modalities within the scope of athletic training certification and state practice act.

Patient Care
Works within established Sports Medicine and their current assignment's athlete care protocol regarding physician referrals, treatment, and return-to-play.

Assistant Athletic Trainer

10-month appointment in the Department of Athletics. Year to year appointment, exempt salary. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work in a variety of environments, both indoor and outdoor, and in inclement weather. Travel with team is a requirement as well as early morning and late evenings with standard office hours in between.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Adhere to any and all NAIA, Chicago Collegiate Athletic Conference and Olivet Nazarene University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.

2. Provide athletic training care and services which include: the prevention, recognition and assessment, management and care, health counseling and education, and rehabilitation for injuries and illnesses to student-athletes within the ONU Athletic Department, under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer, Athletic Director, and the medical direction of the Department of Athletics Team Physicians.

3. Attend athletic practices and competitions in order to provide appropriate athletic training services to student-athletes in the intercollegiate athletic training program. Sport coverage will be football.

4. Maintain all medical records of student-athletes participating in sports in the intercollegiate athletic program. Assist in the coordination and implementation of the athletic medical insurance policies and procedures. Assist with orders for needed supplies and equipment. Control and organize the inventory of supplies. Assist in maintaining the policies and procedures of the sports medicine department. Maintain emergency action plans for all athletic venues.

5. Maintain National Athletic Trainers’ Association Membership, Certification and Licensure in the State
REQUIREMENTS
1. A lifestyle in agreement with the ONU Statement of Mission, Faith, and Lifestyle Covenant.
2. Certified by the BOC, Illinois State Athletic Training Licensure, and familiarity with NAIA governing rules.
