SLIFE Newcomer ESL Teacher- Elementary School

This is a teaching position, providing instruction to elementary level English Learners who are designated as Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE). The teacher will provide direct language instruction in accordance with the district curriculum, Massachusetts Frameworks and WIDA Standards. The ESL teacher will incorporate culturally responsive teaching pedagogy. The teacher will differentiate so students will progress in academic language that will transfer across content areas. Teachers will be supervised by the Administration of the Multilingual Department and be deployed as needed to elementary schools.
ELE Teacher-O'Donnell Middle School

Stoughton Public Schools seeks a highly qualified Middle School ELE teacher to join our committed ELE department in serving our schools’ multilingual student population. The Middle School ELE teacher will coordinate ELE services and provide direct ESL instruction to students. She will develop English language proficiency goals that are clear and measurable and track student progress. She will also be responsible for administering state mandated EL screening assessments and the annual WIDA ACCESS exam for ELs. The role also includes coordinating redesignation of ELs, monitoring FEL (former English Learner) students, and keeping EL records in accordance with DESE guidance. As a critical member of the instructional team, the ELE teacher will work in collaboration with general education and content teachers and share best practices to ensure high quality sheltered English instruction.
