The City of Madras's Administrative Team has one full-time job position available for an Airport Manager. The Madras Airport is a public-use airport with two paved runways located in the Industrial Center's multi-modal transportation area. A former World War II training base for B-17 pilots, the airport is now home to the Erickson Aircraft Collection, Erickson Aero Tanker which provides support for wildland fire suppression, Skydive Awesome!, and home of the annual Airshow of the Cascades. In mid-2015, the north hangar, which was built during World War II, was added to the National Register of Historic Places. In August 2017, the Madras Airport hosted over 400 airplanes for the Total Solar Eclipse. This is an exciting time to be part of a small city's growth and development; to help determine how a community will not only thrive but how it will appeal to those that call it home. Central Oregon is a rapidly growing area with enormous potential. The position will typically require a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in aviation management, business administration, or a related field and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal airport or private flight service operations or marketing, of which two (2) years should be in a managerial capacity. The Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments (MWVCOG) is seeking an Associate Project Manager/Land Use Planner. This position performs advanced land use planning work for member governments in Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties on both current and long-range projects. In addition, this position provides technical support on a variety of community development projects such as grant and loan applications for public infrastructure improvements, administration of federal and state grants, staffing special regional committees, and economic development initiatives. The position reports to the Community Development Director.

Requirements: Minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in planning, geography, public administration, business administration or closely related field; and two 3-5 years of professional land use planning/project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties and responsibilities. Specific knowledge of Oregon state land use planning laws and regulations, including planning goals, policies, requirements, and procedures is required. Experience reviewing land use applications, writing staff reports and presenting to public boards is required. Working knowledge of federal and state development finance programs such as CDBG and USDA is favorable, although not required.

Exempt, Career Range for position: Range 7: $6,231- 6,877 per month, starting range. Flexible work schedule available after successful completion of probation period.
