Novant Health is seeking a family physician committed to community health and residency education to be the inaugural APD for our new rural residency track embedded in Black River Health Services Clinic and Pender Medical Center in Burgaw, NC. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of training the next generation of rural primary care physicians in North Carolina. The program has an academic affiliation with UNC School of Medicine and the Department of Family Medicine.
This new program is an expansion of the well-established Novant Health Wilmington Family Medicine Residency and expands on our mission to prepare family physicians for future full scope practice in medically underserved communities. Our group provides care for a large portion of the region’s Spanish-speaking population - candidates with Spanish language skills are strongest encouraged to apply. This position will also allow the opportunity to acquire more skills/mastery and to have meaningful work that makes a difference.
