Minimum Qualifications: Have a master’s degree in English, Math, Teaching, Sciences, Social Science, Adult Education or closely related field. Five (5) years of teaching experience, which may include previous community college, university, and/or K-12.

Adult High School (HS+)/GED Completion Faculty
Grays Harbor College Grays Harbor College seeks a dedicated, equity-minded full-time tenure-track faculty member to teach Adult High School Completion (HS+) and GED at Stafford Creek Correction Center... (SCCC). Responsibilities include teaching Adult Basic Education, GED preparation classes, establishing educational pathways, and program development. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about the latest adult education standards for HS+ and GED programs and will revise curricula accordingly. Additional duties involve student advising, outcomes assessment, committee work, and accreditation requirements. The position begins in Summer 2024 and requires a 3-week Correctional CORE Worker Training by the Department of Corrections.
HS+ provides opportunities for students to earn a high school diploma using prior learning and current credits to meet WA State graduation requirements. The DOC contracts with Grays Harbor College to offer educational services for offenders at SCCC. Applicants must pass an N.C.I.C. background check and be cleared to work in a prison environment.

Corrections Education Math Faculty
Grays Harbor College GHC is looking for a talented, energetic, and dedicated full-time tenure track faculty member to teach pre-college and college-level mathematics to incarcerated individuals. The p... rimary teaching assignment may include, but not be limited to Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Math in Society, Introduction to Statistics, and Pre-Calculus. Additional responsibilities will include academic student advising, outcomes assessment, committee work, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will be expected to participate actively in the affairs of their Department, the college, and the community, and regularly connect with main-campus Math faculty. We hope to attract candidates for this position who have a passion for teaching math, who can communicate using language that is both accurate and accessible to our students, and who would endeavor to improve individually, as a department, and as a college. The Department of Corrections contracts with Grays Harbor College to provide educational services for offenders. This position is located at Stafford Creek Corrections Center (SCCC). Although safeguards are implemented to protect staff, this work will be performed in a correctional facility where the potential for violence exists. Approach this work with an equi... ty lens, creating a barrier-free and inclusive environment for students. Facilitate Transition Studies student intake and enrollment in coordination with instructional, enrollment, and student services. Expect to flex schedule to accommodate information sessions during enrollment periods. Monitor and track information session participants. Advise and support students in the High School Completion programs (High School+ and GED preparation) in individual or small group information sessions. filling out required intake and admissions forms; creating and reviewing education plans; developing a plan for persistence, which includes barrier reduction strategies and goal setting; and accessing academic support and personal services and providing a soft hand-off. Collaboratively create and provide accessible information and informational materials regarding college pathways through Transition Studies and college programs. Coordinate with faculty regarding course enrollment, student progress and participation, providing retention and follow up services with students. Monitor enrollment and provide information regarding enrollment trends and predictions to the Dean. In collaboration with Transition Studies staff and faculty and other college services, assist Transition Studies students with college processes, including but not limited to admissions, placement, financial aid options, and student advising.
