The SDYS Program Manager is responsible and accountable for the administration and management of the SDYS Youth Orchestra program and its related activities. With the Artistic Director, the President & CEO, and other artistic faculty, the SDYS Program Manager is responsible for maintaining high standards of pedagogy and operations in tandem with a commitment to ensuring a joyful, inclusive and positive experience for SDYS students and families.

Abou... t the Position: The Opus Project, Part of the KeyNote Family of Music Education Programs, is seeking a Opus Site Supervisor to provide on-site relationship and logistical support at an after-school music program in the San Diego County region. They will facilitate on-site relationships and program logistics. They will support student wellness, record program data, and communicate with families and partners. Opus Site Supervisors work with either one or two Opus sites each season. Total hours depend on number of sites and vary according to program and school calendars:
One Site: 10-13 hours per week (~5 hrs/week on-site) Two Sites: 20-23 hours per week (~10 hrs/week on-site)

Our Teaching Artists build musical skills, teach fundamentals, amplify student creativity, serve as mentors and role models, and build community with students and families. They are committed to our core values of commitment, creativity, equity, collaboration, and service.
These positions are responsible for providing beginning instrumental instruction to students in group class and full ensembles. They work in teams to create a joyful and holistic environment for musical learning in after-school instrumental music programs at schools in the San Diego County region. These are part-time, hourly positions with flexible prep time and with work events (e.g., student performances) on weekends and/or weekday evenings depending on the season calendar and program schedule.
During the school year, all teaching artists are provided with prep time for:
lesson planning (remote) site team meetings (hybrid) professional development (hybrid), biweekly department meetings (remote, alternating Mondays at 11am), and quarterly planning meetings (in-person). Rehearsals are held in person at schools in San Diego County and follow the academic calendar of their respective district. One person may fill multiple teaching openings to increase total weekly hours.

About this Position: The SDYS Administrative Coordinator jointly reports to the SDYS Program Manager and the SDYS Production and Operations Manager works closely with both the Youth Orchestra team and the Production and Operations team to achieve their shared goals as well as goals that extend to KeyNote’s broader organizational goals. This role is responsible for registration and enrollment coordination across all KeyNote programs as well as tuition assistance and interfaces with program managers in each area. The Youth Orchestra program currently enrolls 500-550 students in as many as twelve ensembles. This role will also coordinate the new KeyNote Jazz program, providing direct assistance to the program conductors. BRAVO Youth Orchestras REPORTS TO: Strings Program Manager (SPM)
BRAVO Teaching Artist serves as a member of a vibrant team of teachers who lead daily sectionals with up to 25 students. TAs parti... cipate in teaching general musicianship classes and assist their section in full orchestra rehearsals by modeling positive, focused behavior and coaching students. The teaching team meets together at a one-hour, weekly meeting. TAs also attend and assist at performances on weekends or evenings (average 1-2 per month). BRAVO’s schedule follows the public school calendar.
Responsibilities
Curriculum and Teaching Identify and support growth and engagement of participants of after school programs Collaborate on curriculum/ learning objectives with the SPM Lead/teach classes Provide musical instruction in a (mostly) group setting. Lead sectionals and provide individual attention Support students to work on instrument-specific technique Provide short private lessons Work with SPM to execute beginner sites
COMMUNICATION AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT Utilize Communication with Intention best practices Establish and follow a model for feedback to ensure consistency Troubleshoot concerns
AS NEEDED TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES: Supporting other sites as needed
LEAD STRINGS TA (LSTA) ADDITIONAL DUTIES In addition to the above responsibilities, the LSTA will also have additional administrative responsibilities such as but not limited to supply management, copies, and coordinating with the school representatives.
HOURS and PAY TA’s and LSTA’s receive an hourly rate of $32 (non-negotiable). TA’s work for approximately 15-17 hours per week. LSTA’s work approximately 20 hours per week. All employees may participate in BRAVO’s retirement plan after three months of employment. BRAVO will match your contribution up to 3% of your pay.
