Latin American Youth Center The Personal Responsibility Education Innovative Strategies (PREIS) program will implement and evaluate the Many Ways of Being (MWB) sexual health program with youth of all gender... identities ages 15- 19 in the Washington, DC area. The evaluation will test the program’s effectiveness at promoting healthy relationships and communication skills, equitable gender norms, sexual and reproductive health. MWB combines the curricula of two well-established programs, Manhood 2.0 and Sisterhood 2.0. Both curricula have been previously tested and have shown promising results around increasing youth’s confidence in communicating about safe sex with partners, greater social competence and perceived social support, and improved knowledge of contraceptive methods. The Youth Engagement and Retention Specialist will focus on recruitment and retention of youth in the program across all program sites.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, implement and share outreach and engagement strategies and good retention practices across all cohorts in bi-weekly specialist meetings with the team. Document team’s recruitment and retention challenges and overall progress across all sites while working toward new strategies. Facilitate sessions for two cohorts during implementation seasons. Build relationships and maintain regular communication with youth, parents, schools, and community organizations. Coordinate recruitment goals with team before each recruitment visit at schools. Ensure that all required paperwork is entered into ETO data system, Child Trends data systems (REDCap), and Microsoft SharePoint. Work with the Program Coordinator to maintain the budget, oversee documentation, and Data keeping as Grant requires. Assist in the Sexual and Reproductive Team effort to attend Community outreach events.

This is a Part-time position working approximately 29 hours/week Monday-Friday.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Meet regularly with the coordinator and Youth Engagement and retention Specialist to ensure that program outputs and outcomes are being met and to discuss program fidelity, challenges, and successes. Recruit youth through communication and outreach strategies. In Year 3 (FY2024), 400 students will need to complete the program. Facilitate the curricula weekly at multiple sites and assist with coordinating the MWB curriculum (the intervention group) and Career Readiness Curriculum (the control group) sessions. Implement strategies to retain youth in the program, including calls, texts, emails and in-person follow-ups with youth and make sure that these recruitment efforts are being documented appropriately. Latin American Youth Center Salary Range:$47,500.00 To 52,500.00 Annually The primary function of the DC Prevention Center (DCPC) Community Mobilizer is to serve as a liaison between the Prevention Center... and Ward 1 & 2 communities by attending relevant community meetings and events; identifying links between the information presented at these meetings and how they guide DCPC actions; and assisting in the implementation of community conversations and forums. The Community Mobilizer will select appropriate materials and disseminate community education on substance abuse through events and meetings. The Community Mobilizer will also work closely with the DCPC Director and Coordinator to guide potential community prevention networks through the process towards action planning and community change.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend relevant community meetings and events as a representative of the DCPC to promote the Prevention Center, identify potential networks, conduct community education, and learn about current community issues that are of interest to the Prevention Center. In collaboration with DCPC staff, conduct technical assistance and training for networks to increase their capacity to create community change in regard to substance abuse. Develop and maintain resources and strong working relationships with networks and other agencies within the community. In coordination with funding requirements, execute marketing strategy including logo, graphic design and other identifiers to promote the Prevention Center and other associated community events. Conduct community education and participate in community mobilization activities with Prevention Center, LAYC, or other community organization staff during on- and off-site organizational events.
