Professional Development Coordinator
Center for Public Health Continuing Education
he Professional Development Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of statewide education and training initiatives provided through a MOU between the NYSDOH and the University at Albany School of Public Health. They will lead the Center's efforts in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned training projects for the public health and health care workforce.

Essential Functions:
Lead and coordinate assigned training project(s) to assure quality programs that meet project-based deliverables on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include:

Serving as the primary liaison with the NYSDOH and subject matter experts/instructors
Preparing annual training schedules
Working directly with subject matter experts to review, update and develop training curricula/content (including PPT slides, interactive components, materials and handouts)
Developing/updating promotional materials and managing registration; tracking registration fees (as needed)
Working with the CE Manager to secure/maintain continuing education credits (as needed)
Producing live webinars including opening, closing and facilitation (instructors will deliver content)
Maintaining email and phone communication with training registrants
Coordinating evaluation efforts including needs assessments
Coordinating with the Professional Development program to offer on-demand training (as needed)
Preparing quarterly reports
Additional responsibilities Proposal writing and/or grant writing
Other Functions

Serve as a member of Continuing Education team in overall planning and organizational and process improvement
Minimal travel will be required
Other duties as assigned
Public Health Educator
Upstate New York Poison Center
This position is responsible for the implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of a structured poison presentation program targeting the general public throughout the Poison Center's catchment area (with a focus on the northern and eastern parts of New York). Will participate in the design of poison prevention education programs and in the development of program related materials. Position requires ability to network and develop partnerships in the community for the purpose of collaborating on educational programming and education. Poison Prevention Month activities will be a prime focus area.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or Health Education or related field and 1-2 years of teaching/training experience plus excellent public speaking, written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required.

Transportation is needed for traveling to educational presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's in Public Health or Public Administration preferred

Work Days:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00, with occasional eves and weekends

The Youth Engagement Coordinator will actively recruit, coordinate, and lead tobacco control youth action in Albany, Schenectady, and Rensselaer counties.

As a point person for CDTFC initiatives, the Youth Engagement Coordinator will develop and lead tobacco-control youth action teams (youth ages 13-18) to improve public health outcomes. Specifically, the successful candidate will engage, train, and mobilize youth to be active participants in the policy and community change process through data collection, community and decision maker education, and media engagement.

The New York State Public Health Corps (NYSPHC) Fellowship Program application period begins Monday, May 6th and will close on June 28th. These full-time, paid positions are located across New York State, with opportunities at host organizations such as the New York State Department of Health, Local Health Departments, and other public health system partners.

Candidates eligible for the NYSPHC Fellowship Program include new graduates and individuals with training or experience in public health, human services, nursing, allied health, healthcare, social services, communications, information technology, logistics, planning, education, data science, emergency preparedness, administration, and operations. The Fellowship positions will focus on one of the following seven areas: communications, emergency preparedness, epidemiology and data, laboratory reporting, partnership development, policy development, and program and organizational management.

Wilmot’s Tobacco Cessation Program offers a smoking cessation text messaging program, available in English and Spanish. Moreover, the Program offers nicotine replacement therapies (e.g., nicotine patches, gum, and lozenges) at no cost. Interested individuals will conduct initial consultations, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide counseling and cessation follow up via text-messaging. Tobacco cessation counseling training is provided upon hire.
