Residual Stress (RS) Engineer

The subject matter expe... rt (SME) is expected to independently define customer needs and work-scope; develop a targeted solution to address the RS issues; and manage a large portfolio of jobs using competing resources to deliver meaningful results.
The successful candidate will focus on managing RS programs; integration and collaboration with technical disciplines (such as Coatings, Lifing, Modeling, Alloy Development, and Aftermarket Solutions), measurement plan development, data collection and analysis; and reporting concise and comprehensive results. The SME will also support data interpretation and definition of applicability for various applications; and develop outside collaborative efforts to develop new measurement methods and outside laboratories that can complement in-house capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with customers to define RS data needs and applicability, measurement plan, timeline, and resource requirements.
• Execute RS data collection and analysis.
• Collaborate with universities / suppliers / government institutions to expand current available capabilities and develop state-of-the-art methods to implement into practice.
• Integrate RS data into various disciplines and applications within PW.
• Lead the RS Knowledge Generation and Transfer to ensure effective retention of learnings and findings.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mineralogy, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of prior experience in residual stress measurement and analysis OR an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of prior experience
• U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
