Director of Education
Temple Israel Shalom! We are delighted that you are considering joining our Temple Israel team!
Temple Israel is the only Reform congregation in Omaha, Nebraska (https://www.templeisra... elomaha.com/jobs) and the largest synagogue in the state, serving 650 families.
We are searching for a Director of Education who can build upon our strong foundation while cultivating exciting opportunities to elevate and enhance our learning programs. We hope that our educator will be a dynamic and creative individual who is passionate about Jewish education and Jewish life. In this role, you will direct our youth learning programs, with students ranging from our youngest Temple Tots (ages birth - 4) through graduating High School seniors, as well as developing avenues for family and multi-generational learning.
Temple Israel recently worked with a curriculum consultant to develop a brand-new curriculum for our Pre-K through 6th grade students, which we teach alongside a robust selection of chugim (our specialty areas), which include cooking, nature, art, and music & movement. Our new Director of Education will evaluate and strengthen our current model and enhance it with their own passions and strengths. In addition to our more formal educational structures, our Director of Education will develop creative and engaging programming for our youth and families during Shabbat and holiday celebrations in the context of wider congregational events, and through opportunities to engage in acts of tikkun olam (repairing the world) and g’milut chasadim (acts of lovingkindness).
