Air Quality Engineer

We're seeking an early- to mid-career air quality engineer to support technical execution, business development, and project management across a variety of environmental projects. This is a remote position with growth potential and exposure to high-impact projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing air permit applications (PSD, Title V, NNSR) and emissions inventories.
Performing regulatory applicability analyses (CAA, NSPS, NESHAP, Part 98).
Supporting and managing air emissions testing and LDAR programs.
Performing emission calculations using emission factors, stack tests, and modeling.
Conducting statistical data analysis and air dispersion modeling (e.g., AERMOD).
Developing technical reports, proposals, and client communications.
Supporting Environmental Management Systems and compliance reporting.
Qualifications:
B.S. in environmental, chemical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
2+ years consulting or 3+ years industry/government experience.
Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VBA), data analysis, and technical writing.
Knowledge of federal and state air quality programs.
Experience with LDAR, emissions testing, and modeling tools preferred.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

What you will do: • Work collaboratively in a team environment to ensure compliance with all site’s environmental permits, including local, state and federal regulatory requirements. • Adhere to all site safety and environmental policies/procedures, including OSHA and MSHA regulations. • Provide regulatory oversight for assigned environmental programs such as chemical and waste management, air quality and environmental management systems. • Communicate effectively with site personnel and operational departments, providing regulatory guidance for production processes, maintenance, and capital projects. • Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies responsible for local, state, and federal permits. • Ensure assigned environmental compliance reports are completed accurately and on-time. • Attend regulatory training seminars to stay updated on current regulatory requirements and improve knowledge as a subject matter expert. • Gain knowledge of day-to-day operations and stay informed of operational problems/upsets that may affect site regulatory compliance. • Provide technical support for continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives. Assist with multi-media-based questions and document preparation, such as Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, and filings pursuant to the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA).
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
