Collects and reports data thro... ugh CBISA software, accounting software systems, and directly from accountable parties as necessary if not captured through other financial systems. Establishes and maintains collaborative processes to streamline community benefit reporting with internal partners, including finance, mission, clinical education, hospital administration and other staff. Using standard forms, compiles and reports community benefit to internal and external constituencies including, but not limited to state hospital associations, and state and/or federal agencies.
Community Benefit Subject Matter Expertise.Maintains expertise in community benefit reporting,accounting and tax practices to accurately account for community benefit activities in accordance with current IRS, Health System and respective state definitions. Provides community benefit activity and financial information necessary for IRS reporting and periodic audits. Monitor national trends and research related to community benefit and prepare reports as needed.
Training and Education. Responsible for training and developing CBISA software “Reporters.” Provides individual, group and online education and development to CHI Health employees and particular work units to enhance the understanding of community benefit opportunities, including how and when to report activities.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Management/Administration, Finance, Public Health, Health Administration and Policy or related field.
Preferred Master of Business Administration or related degree.
A minimum of three years experience in accounting or finance within a health care system or related profession.
