Are you interested in developing solutions on industrial and societal challenges related to renewable energy systems, circular and bioeconomy, process industry and healthcare?

Main tasks:
- Develop decision support tools and perform analyses combining technological, economic and environmental aspects.
Establish new projects and networks for SINTEF.

Qualifications:
Quantitative analyses in one or more of the following:

- Economics / Econometrics / Input-Output - analyses / CGE
- Modelling / Simulation / Data processing
- Environmental sciences
- Industrial ecology tools within LCA / MFA / IO
- Good programming skills is an advantage.
- We are looking for candidates with a minimum of master's degree. PhD would be beneficial.

The OECD is looking for highly motivated candidates with excellent quantitative skills, knowledge of international economic statistics and excellent interpersonal skills to fill internship or constancy positions.  

The candidate would support a small team to work on the ICIO infrastructure and associated key databases (e.g. the STAN database: http://oe.cd/stan), the development of GVC indicators and contribute to related analyses. While working on the construction of internationally comparable databases and conducting economic analyses, the candidate would learn about the uses, interpretation, and limitations of derived indicators. The candidate could also focus on one or two analytical areas, to be determined in consultation with the Head of Unit and Head of Division. For example, the propagation of economic shocks in GVCs; employment and GVCs; the impact of GVCs on the environment (e.g. climate change) and society (e.g. responsible business conduct); and the structure of international supply chain networks


The candidate would work under the supervision of economists and statisticians, under the responsibility of the Head of the Division, and would collaborate with other teams in the division and across the OECD. 




Possible positions and duration

•Internship: 12 months (only if enrolled full-time in an advanced degree course); 

• Consultancy: 1 year, with the possibility to continue in case of mutual interest; 

• Temporary Contract: 12 months with the possibility to continue for another 12 months in case of mutual interest; 

• Secondment: 12 months with the possibility to continue for another 12 months in case of mutual interest.

#EXIOBASE and #LCImpact have become very popular tools for sustainable development. They are used in thousands of scientific studies, as a basis for practical decision making, and being integrated into commerical tools and services sold by consultancies. However, the tools are maintained by a small group of researchers. We are now seeking to invest in streamlining the production of both tools. We are looking somebody with good programming skills (#python #matlab) and an interest in or command of multiregional input-output modeling and #lifecycle impact assessment.
