Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Program Lead

The selected Species ecandidate may be responsible for the management of a variety of TDM consultations, marketing, community outreach, evaluation, and reporting activities, including, but not limited to the following:

Serve as the key lead for employer services to ensure that all program needs and expectations are met.

Develop workplan activities and calendars to guide the work.

Establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with the client, other staff from the larger project team, program clients, and the public, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds, the elderly, persons with disabilities and/or other vulnerable populations.

Train and manage a team of outreach coordinators that lead engagement.
Maintain and build employer programs and services.

Provide direction and quality control in guiding the development of printed and digital marketing materials and collateral related to employer services.

Lead the development of a variety of program events for employer services, including, but not limited to program participant recognition, transportation fairs, presentations, and workshops and various community outreach events.

Build and maintain relationships with third-party benefit administrators and transportation stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with other TDM providers, MPO staff, and transit providers throughout our clients’ regions.

Planner 1
Nashville Department of Transportation
The Nashville Connector Planner is a full-time position and assists with development and promotion of alternative commute options to reduce roadway congestion and improve air quality within the Davidson County Metropolitan Planning Area. Primary responsibilities include development of studies and assisting with recommendations on all strategies that reduce the demand for single- occupant vehicle travel in our region including alternative commute options such as ridesharing, public transit, biking, walking, telecommuting, and alternative work schedules. The Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) delivers a range of services, and the nearly 400 employees work around the clock to ensure a multimodal system that offers choice and better connects neighborhoods, residents, businesses and visitors to the place that they need and want to go to in a safe manner. These employees are responsible for over 2,200 miles of public roadways and rights-of-way, over 6,000 streets, over 300 bridges, 835 traffic signals and over 1,200 miles of bike/sidewalk lanes and much more. Big events in Nashville consist of CMA Festival, Stanley Cup Finals, Titans games.

Typical Duties
Supports the program administrator with the implementation of NDOT’s transportation demand management program by engaging community stakeholders, employers, organizations, and developers.
Serves as liaison between different departments to ensure TDM (transportation demand management) strategies and practices are incorporated into planning initiatives.
Participates in NDOT’s development review processes to ensure incorporation of TDM goals in developer-required impact studies.
Researches and integrates TDM best practices into NDOT policies.

Senior Planner - Active Transportation

Salary Range $63,104.00 - $117,497.00

What will I be doing?
- Take the lead on planning projects that improve mobility, safety, multimodal connections, and economic development throughout the region, focusing on active (non-motorized) transportation

-Lead and assist with active transportation and safe routes to schools studies, data collection, and safety projects focused on bicycle and pedestrian transportation

-Develop and execute active transportation focused transportation plans, policy recommendations, and investment priorities that garner broad stakeholder and public support

-Provide professional and timely feedback to a variety of audiences

-Manage consulting contracts, project budgets and invoices
 

Key Qualifications

-Thorough knowledge of active transportation planning, transportation and land use planning, policies, regulations and best practices

- Experience in developing scopes of work, contracting processes, data analysis, gathering public input, management of consultant teams, review of invoices and reports, in the implementation of transportation planning studies consistent with federal, state, and local requirements

- Experience in active transportation or mobility planning, including developing and executing sub-regional, corridor, or other transportation plans

-An “all hands-on deck” attitude and passion for doing whatever it takes to improve quality of life for our citizens

- Strong interest in the bike and pedestrian infrastructure, transportation and related concerns about equity and safety

-Strong project management, communication and presentation skills are crucial for success in this role

- Ability to use GIS software

Do you have…   

- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study    

- 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
