POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medical Director, Quality and Value will provide clinical leadership for the full spectrum of quality, safety and value initiatives of Mosaic Medical. This position will work in partnership with the Director, Operations, Director, Nursing, and Director, Value Improvement to lead the execution of strategies to align and demonstrate quality care and value to our patients, community and payers.

Work Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in a primary care medical group or community health center environment required. Two years of experience with quality and/or safety initiatives preferred.

Education, certification and licensure: Graduate of an accredited program (medical school). If MD, must have completed residency training in primary care specialty and be board certified or eligible. Licensed or eligible for licensure by the Oregon State Board of Medical Examiners or Oregon State Board of Nursing. Must be professionally insurable. Possession of or eligibility for DEA certificate. Unrestricted Oregon Drivers License.

Skills & Knowledge: Understands and has experience with fiscal accountability and budgeting. Knowledge of quality infrastructure, including how to develop and implement decision tools, clinical protocols and guidelines, care management programs, and outcome measurement assessments. Knowledge of information technology, including statistical analysis, clinical epidemiology, and medical informatics; understanding best practices and how to successfully introduce information technology into clinical practice. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus with the ability to engage clinicians and staff. Knowledge of medical coding, both ICD-10 and CPT.

Experience with managed care, administration of programs, leadership and complex organizational management skills, and staff supervision, including staff at satellite clinics. Demonstrated experience with Electronic Medical Records.

Education, certification and licensure: Advanced clinical degree required. License to practice in the state of Oregon or ability to obtain a license in Oregon. Board certified or board eligible in applicable field if relevant. Valid driver’s license. Master’s in Public Health preferred.

Skills & Knowledge: A deep knowledge of integrated primary care, population health management, and value based pay. Ability to perform in a complex changing environment.
