They will be responsible for helping to facilitate a constructivist learning environment that allows youth to create meaning out of their experience through reflection and demonstration. Additionally, the youth program leader will be responsible for proper supervision of and interaction with youth, practice effective group management, encourage participation, develop meaningful relationships, serve as a positive role model, and - most of all - have fun!
Neighborhood House’s teen program (SOAR) will run for ten weeks, Monday June 12, 2023 and concludes on Thursday, August 17, 2023. This includes 3 overnight excursions: a get-to-know-the-group campout, a humanitarian service trip and a wrap-up-summer group campout. The youth program leader must be able to work all three excursions. The youth program leader will also participate in youth selection interviews in April.
