Red Brick Childcare The Early Education Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting Lead Teacher with the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care, which may... include toddlers and/or preschool age children; develops partnerships with birth parents/child’s caregivers to engage and encourage parent participation in program. The assistant Teacher is also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and local governing contracting agencies; and works collegially with other staff members of Red Brick Childcare.
EDUCATION
•High School Diploma or Equivalent and or Associates in ECE with courses in Child Development or Early Childhood Education including core courses in Child/Human Growth and Development; Child, Family and Community and Program/Curriculum, or a CDA credential, or
CPL level of 3 preferred.
•Two years teaching experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
•Early Child Development knowledge and experience.
•Knowledge in Desired Results, Developmentally Appropriate Practices.
•Knowledge of Ohio’s Department of Job and Family Services Rules & Regulations for Childcare centers and Step Up to Quality rules.
•Good communication, problem solving, and priority setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive and professional attitude /disposition.
•Ability to use the computer to input developmental data.
•Ability to effectively assist plan, organize and implement educational activities.
•Ability to make decisions on behalf of children and protect their well-being. • Must be able to manage confidential information.
•Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40-pound child.
•Must have the ability to pass FBI & BCI background checks.
