Missouri State University A tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2024 with expertise in community and transportation planning and geography. A Ph.D. in Urban Planning or... a closely related field is required at the time of appointment. The successful applicant will teach an introductory Urban Studies general education course and have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the department’s Community and Regional Planning and Geography and Sustainability major programs, including the community planning practicum (studio) and transportation planning courses. A commitment to undergraduate- and graduate-level teaching, mentorship of graduate research within the department’s master’s programs, community engagement, and maintenance of an active research agenda are required. Candidates should be willing to work towards recruitment of students into a growing Planning program. Candidates who have experience working with design software or geospatial applications and can incorporate these into courses are encouraged to apply. The candidate should demonstrate an ability to encourage an understanding of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or diverse backgrounds.
