Through a grant from Partnership Health Plan of CA (PHC), Redwoods Rural Health Center is launching a street medicine program.
We’re recruiting a PA, NP, MD, or DO to support these integral services for the Southern Humboldt Community.
The medical provider, accompanied by a Medical Assistant and two Outreach Workers, will provide primary health care services to homeless populations in the areas where they live. The goal is to reach at least 10 PHC patients per clinic day.
1. Schedule: 1-2 days per month from 9:00-4:00 (starting in August 2023 through Oct. 2023 with potential to extend)
2. Responsibilities: Relationship building, wound care, labs, referrals to preventive and specialty care, med prescribing
3. Compensation: $100-$150/hr. (depending upon license type. Not benefits eligible)

Street Medicine Patient Registration Specialist Full-Time

Responsible for processing registration and discharge of street medicine patients, appropriate placement of patients with providers, verifying insurance benefits, and making financial arrangements to ensure maximum reimbursement to Los Angeles Christian Health Centers. Responsible to collect all data needed to report to managed care health plans and assisting in making PCP changes. Will operate in the street medicine setting, working alongside street medicine health professionals to conduct registration processes in the field. Will also be responsible to coordinate transportation options, i.e. taxi and rideshare for patients, and also operating LACHC’s mobile medical van as needed. Must have excellent computer experience and customer service. Demonstrate Christ-like behavior and attitude in all job duties and responsibilities.
