DIVISION: Rigaku Oxford Diffraction
POSITION: Regional Sales Manager (Europe), Single Crystal.
LOCATION: Europe, potentially home based.
Qualifications:

X-ray or electron diffraction experience required, ideally single crystal.
Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, preparation and presentation skills.
Sales experience preferred but not essential.
Scientific degree minimum, PhD ideally.


Responsibilities:

Effectively communicate the value of Rigaku single-crystal instruments and technology.
Understand the needs of prospective customers in order to qualify their instrumentation requirements.
Routinely meet existing and prospective customers in person and virtually.
Arrange and host prospective customer visits to Rigaku offices for product demonstrations. Demonstrations will be given by dedicated application scientists.
Support customers through the grant application, evaluation and procurement processes.
Prepare tender responses.
Negotiate final terms (price, warranty, delivery, conditions, etc.) of a contract.
Meet sales targets and grow sales by prospecting for new customers, capturing competitors’ customers, and retaining Rigaku customers.
Effective use of our CRM software package, Salesforce.com.


Requirements:

Must be willing and able to travel without restriction within Europe. Up to 50% travel.
Potentially a home-based position depending on location.



Compensation will consist of both salary and performance-based incentive programs commensurate with experience.

Application Scientist XRD/XRF
Rigaku Europe SE
The Application Scientist will provide complex application support to our XRD customers with all XRD systems manufactured by Rigaku Corporation. The Application Scientist should be capable to operate XRD equipment, apply analytical methods and techniques used in powder and thin-film XRD and should be interested in basic XRF methodology. Specific background in one of Rigaku’s key segments, like life science, advanced materials or chemicals is highly appreciated.

ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct test measurements on customer samples showing capabilities of Rigaku Instruments including Hard- and Software.
Perform demonstration of the equipment in the Rigaku Europe SE laboratory or on a customer site.
Prepare reports of measurements or demonstration tests within specified deadlines.
Provide technical assistance and advice to the sales team and leads during pre-sales process.
Perform on-site application training to customers following customer requests and instrument relevance.
Assist customers and be responsive in case of application related issues and questions.
Promoting sales growth via participation in conferences, trade shows, seminars and workshops

QUALIFICATIONs / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

PhD or MSc in Crystallography, Mineralogy, Chemistry, Material Science or similar
Experience with XRD techniques and methods, basic XRF technique knowledge is an advantage.
Fluent communication skills in German and English
Additional language is an advantage
Knowledge of complementary analytical methods would be good.
Ability to travel up to 50% of time is required

We have a bioinformatician position available in the PDBe team at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) on the Wellcome Genome Campus near Cambridge.

We are looking for a scientific programmer/bioinformatician with a strong structural biology background and software engineering skills.

The successful candidate will create and improve biological data processing pipelines, perform data analysis, and develop user-facing web pages for the PDBe – Knowledge Base (PDBe-KB) resource.

Bioinformatician/Scientific Programmer
Protein Data Bank in Europe (PDBe)
We are looking for a bioinformatician/scientific programmer to work on a research project exploring the utility of residue covariation data in predicting protein quaternary structure. The project is a collaboration between PDBe, the Orengo group at UCL and the Baker group at the University of Washington (USA).

The post holder will identify the residue covariation data that can be integrated into the PDBe-KB infrastructure and develop robust mechanisms for data integration, visualisation and access. The post holder will have strong software engineering skills and a background in bioinformatics.
