Position #2 includes an emphasis on partner engagement and storytelling through social media and web-based communication.

Patient Health and Immunization Project Manager

Through a grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), the KAFP is thrilled to create a new full-time, contract, virtual position seeking a patient health and immunization project manager with an immediate start date.
This position will play an integral role in KAFP’s goal of increasing immunizations across our state as well as positively impact the number of physicians administering vaccinations in their practices, for all ages.

The assistant director is a management level position with significant responsibility for day-to-day operations of the organization, providing staff support for association meetings, facilitating communication, and project management. The position requires someone able and willing to take initiative and carry out responsibilities with moderate oversight.
The assistant director is supervised by, and reports directly to, the executive director.
This position is responsible for overseeing KALHD’s contract with KDHE for Immunization Provider Enhancement. This is a long-term position with allocated funding through June 30, 2024. KALHD is based out of Topeka and position accommodates some work-from-home (meaning some days this position can work fully from home but some office work in Topeka will be regular and necessary).

Specific duties include (but are not be limited to):
• Acts as a “back-up” to executive director and maintains capacity to attend and participate in workgroup or stakeholder meetings on behalf of KALHD.
• Takes primary responsibility for assigned projects, including planning, management, and reporting.
• Takes primary responsibility for association communications, including ensuring frequent and timely updates of the public facing website and other media.
• Conducts issue-based research to support association projects and initiatives.
• Prepares or directs the preparation and maintenance of necessary records and reports.
• Acts as office manager. As a small organization this includes the complete range of services- financial, technology, administrative.

Senior Communications Manager

Kansas Action for Children is seeking a full-time Senior Communications Manager to implement an integrated, culturally competent strategic communications plan to help shape policy decisions and broaden awareness of KAC's mission, work, and equitable policy solutions among stakeholder audiences. This position requires a strong writer who can effectively develop and deliver compelling messaging across multiple platforms, including press releases, grant reports, fundraising materials, email, social media, feature stories, website copy, and visual presentations.

KAC works to improve the lives of Kansas children through advocacy, partnership, and information-sharing on key issues including education, health care, and economic well-being for families. This position will help ensure that the diverse voices representing Kansas kids and families reach leaders in Topeka.

The ideal candidate should have a proven record of effective communication, especially in nonprofit and/or a legislative capacity. This position will oversee the creation of marketing and communications materials, develop key messages, write and edit communications, and consult with colleagues to share messages with key audiences such as policymakers, legislators, partners and funders, and the public.

This person in this position will bring excellent strategic, analytical, communications, advocacy, and interpersonal competencies to the role.

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Sr. Communications Manager will work from our office located in downtown Topeka, Kansas.
