Berkley Department of Public Safety The City of Berkley Department of Public Safety, a fully consolidated police and fire department, is seeking qualified applicants to create a list for the position of Public Safet... y Officer due to an anticipated opening. Starting salary range is $44,636 to $88,283, with complete benefit package and six-month step pay increases until top pay. The City of Berkley is currently offering a lateral transfer compensation program based on prior full-time experience. Any incoming employee who is currently certified as a police officer or firefighter will be given service credit toward reaching top pay.
