Natural and Cultural Resources Manager - MacDill AFB

Manages environmental requirements associated with Natural Resources and Cultural Resources to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, state, county, DoD, and Air Force regulations. The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) is seeking an experienced leader for its successful and growing conservation program. The Director of Conservation Programs reports directly to the Chief Conservation Officer and assists in delivering the conservation mission of the MDF. The Director of Conservation Programs will lead a conservation team which delivers habitat conservation through partnership and project implementation. This is a senior-level position and will work interdepartmentally and cross functionally with other MDF senior-level staff to help secure funding and resources MDF needs to successfully accomplish its mission and objectives. Job Summary:
The Director of Conservation (Director) position assists the Chief Conservation Officer (CCO) in leading, managing, and implementing MDF’s conservation program including the supervision of conservation staff as assigned. The Director position provides program direction (planning, technical assistance, training, and support services) to the organization in regard to conservation planning, conservation and stewardship projects, existing conservation easements, and other mission activities. This position helps to ensure that coordination is maintained with Field Operations, Development, Marketing, and other departments in developing, implementing, and celebrating mission related programs. Other major responsibilities include fundraising, budget and strategic planning, program coordination internally and externally, and organizational representation at the national level.
